Footnote by M. Cross:

It is surprising to see how well used this little book has been. Surprising too, that "many thousands" of copies wer sold. Maybe its publication led to the formation of spelling reform groups. We hav much mor consistent "reforms" to offer to anyone interested. How can we ourselves reach "many thousands" who would read our literature?
